Hearthstone Farm Inc. Presents…. Hands-On Horse Courses Love horses? Want a job with horses or to move up in your equestrian career? Tired of learning only from books or in a classroom? We offer the opportunity for intensive, guided learning right in the stable! Students are able to practice various skills on several horses in each session. Around horses, it is the actual practice, under the guidance of highly experienced experts, that will build the skills you need to be a good horseman or horsewoman. This is a series of courses offered to horse enthusiasts at all levels. Each course is a series of four three-hour blocks of lecture, demonstration, and practice. At the end of the course, you have the opportunity to take an optional exam on the information and skills learned. To take the Intermediate Courses, the exam for the Basic Course must be passed first, even if the course is not taken. Students who pass all Advanced Courses will be given Hearthstone Horsemaster Certification. As a part of each course, you will practice your skills on not one, but several horses. The intention is to give each student enough hands-on experience to develop confidence in being able to perform each task safely, correctly, and easily. Experienced staff will demonstrate and then assist, as needed. We want you to have fun while you learn! Courses are $195.00 each. Exams taken at the end of the course included in the price, but are $25.00 if taken without the course, to meet the prerequisite of a higher level course.
